Mild & Productive Japanese Greens
Grow fresh, tender mibuna with this reliable standard variety. A Japanese mustard green known for its mild flavour and attractive, narrow, serrated leaves.
Why Mibuna?
Mibuna produces upright clumps of glossy green leaves with a pleasant, slightly peppery but mild taste. It grows quickly and is excellent for cut-and-come-again harvesting, making it perfect for salads, stir-fries, and soups. Much milder than many other Asian greens.

How to Grow Good Mibuna
- Soil & Site: Fertile, moist soil in full sun to partial shade. Tolerates cooler temperatures well.
- Sowing: Sow direct in succession from early spring to autumn. Scatter seeds and cover lightly. Thin to 10–15 cm apart for larger plants.
- Care: Keep well-watered to maintain tenderness and prevent bolting. Mulch to keep roots cool.
- Harvest: Start picking outer leaves when plants are 10–15 cm tall. Regular harvesting encourages more growth and extends the season.
- Tip: Great for baby leaf production – harvest young for the mildest flavour.
