$4.00
Resilient, Home-Adapted Seeds
Discover our unique Landrace Orange Carrot variety – a vigorous, flavorful carrot line carefully selected and improved right here on our farm over multiple generations.
Why Landrace Carrots?
A landrace is grown from diversity: we sow a wide mix of carrot types, then save seed only from the strongest, sweetest, and most productive plants that thrive in our soil and climate. The result? Carrots that are noticeably more robust and resilient than uniform commercial varieties. They handle variable weather, challenging soils, and pests better, delivering reliable harvests year after year.
While you won’t get perfect uniformity (each root may vary slightly in shape and size), you’ll grow carrots with superior adaptability and garden performance. These have proven to grow exceptionally well for us – and we’re confident they’ll do the same for you.

Description
To grow carrots and get excellent germination we suggest you:
Loosen the soil well with a fork
Dig furrows that are 50mm deep and water them well
Sprinkle the seeds sparsely, you might find mixing with sand helpful for avoiding over-sowing. Aim for one seed every 3-4cm.
Cover with 30mm of light and fluffy soil – or our preference – some organic bagged potting mix.
Keep the soil moist until they germinate – carrots can take up to three weeks if the weather isn’t warm enough yet.
Sow early spring then every 3-4 weeks until April to get continuous harvests. For larger carrots thin them to 50mm spacings.
