Shipping Policy - Food Forest Plants NZ

At Food Forest Plants, we take great care in packaging and shipping our plants so they arrive in excellent condition.

Orders are processed on Mondays and Wednesdays, and are shipped Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
Orders placed after 12pm on a processing day will be processed on the next processing day.
Please allow 1-3 business days for processing before your order ships.

We use New Zealand Post and Pass the Parcel for all shipments:

Cuttings and barerooted crowns: Sent in NZ Post Economy Bags (most cost-effective option).
Potted plants: Packed securely in Boxes for better protection and shipped via Pass the Parcel Couriers

Domestic (New Zealand): Most orders are delivered within 2–5 business days after shipping, depending on your location.
Rural or remote addresses may take slightly longer.

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the weight, size, and destination of your order. We do not charge a markup on postage.

You will receive a tracking number via email once your order has been shipped. You can track your parcel directly on the NZ Post website.

We do our best to ship on the scheduled days, but occasional delays can occur due to stock checks, high order volume, or NZ Post service disruptions.
Plants are live goods — we strongly recommend someone is home to receive the parcel or that it can be left in a safe shaded spot.
During extreme weather (especially hot or very cold periods), we may delay shipping to protect the health of your plants. You will be notified if this happens.
Please be sure to plant your crowns as soon as they arrive, if they are frost tender we recommend planting in a pot and keeping somewhere sheltered until the frost has passed. Don’t forget to keep them lightly damp so they don’t dry out, but not so much that they will rot.
