At Food Forest Plants, we work hard to ensure all plants leave our nursery in healthy condition.
Replacements for Live Plants
We offer replacements (where possible) in the following situations:
- The plant arrives destroyed or in poor condition (Dead on Arrival)
- The plant is significantly damaged during transit
Conditions for Replacement:
- You must notify us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the plant and packaging.
- Plants must have been unpacked and cared for immediately upon arrival (placed in appropriate light, watered if needed, and protected from extreme temperatures).
- We reserve the right to refuse replacement if there is evidence of customer negligence after delivery (e.g. left in direct sun/heat, not watered, left in packaging too long, etc.).
- Crowns, Cuttings, Root Cuttings, Bulbs and Tubers are all sent in a dormant or semi-dormant state. These plants can look dead but should start to grow in Spring. If your plants do not come up after correct and careful care, we will offer a refund. We suggest you wait until October before checking for growth.
Refunds
- Refunds are only issued in exceptional circumstances (e.g. we are unable to send a suitable replacement and you request a refund).
- Shipping costs are non-refundable.
- We do not offer refunds for plants that die after successful delivery due to care conditions, climate, or other factors outside our control.
Customer Responsibility
Live plants are perishable goods. Upon receiving your order, please:
- Unpack immediately
- Inspect the plants
- Place them in suitable conditions right away
- Water as needed
We cannot be responsible for plants that decline after they have been successfully delivered and are in your care.
How to Request a Replacement
Please email us at foodforestplantsnz@gmail.com with your order number, photos of the issue, and a description of what happened. We will respond as quickly as possible (usually within 1 business day).
