How to Grow Good Lemon Sorrel

  • Soil & Site: Rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Prefers slightly acidic conditions.
  • Sowing: Sow direct in spring or autumn, or start indoors. Cover seeds lightly. Thin seedlings to 20–30 cm apart.
  • Care: Keep consistently watered. Mulch to retain moisture. Remove flower stalks to encourage leaf production.
  • Harvest: Pick young leaves as needed once plants are established. Regular harvesting promotes fresh growth.
  • Tip: Lemon Sorrel is perennial and will return each spring. Divide mature clumps every few years for best vigour.
