Traditional & Medicinal Uses
Selfheal has been used for centuries across many cultures and is often called “Heal-All” for good reason:
- Wound Healing: Famous for its ability to stop bleeding, reduce inflammation, and speed tissue repair. Traditionally used as a poultice or wash for cuts, bruises, burns, and skin irritations.
- Sore Throat & Mouth Care: Strong antibacterial and antiviral properties. The tea or tincture is excellent for sore throats, mouth ulcers, gum infections, and tonsillitis.
- Immune & Lymphatic Support: Used for colds, flu, swollen lymph nodes, and general immune boosting.
- Digestive & Internal Health: Mild support for digestive upset, liver health, and inflammation.
- Other Traditional Uses: Headaches, high blood pressure support, and topical treatment for herpes and shingles.
Parts Used: Whole aerial parts (leaves and flowers) harvested when flowering.
Note: A gentle and versatile herb. Always consult a qualified herbalist or healthcare provider before using medicinally.
